It proved to be a great evening with in excess of two hundred people turning up to shop from 30 trade stands

of an assortment of hand made quality item s ranging from hand made soap, chocolates,haberdashery and loads more,

The coffee shop served delicious nibbles and glasses of wine advertising their xmas lunches.

The Ladies of St Catherines Drayton hand bell ringers set the mood with some christmas carols.

Huge thank you to all who came along, we now have in stock Christmas trees and wreaths which can all be ordered

ready for Christmas we are happy to keep them till you want to collect them.

Everyone eager to get their gardens tidy for winter, cutting hedges raking leaves perhaps a last

cut of the grass although that is no means certain as it is so mild grass happily growing, so a bit soon

to put the mower away till the spring.

Bear a thought for the wildlife, in our eagerness to tidy everything away we sometimes forget all the free natural bird food

we have in the garden, most herbaceous perrenials form seed heads of some kind which most small birds love, and as it is in

a natural form it wont become mouldy as it would in a bird feeder.

So as well as doing your bit for the wildlife by leaving seed heads, it does also offer some protection to the elements with

sub zero temperatures being the norm it seems, it does help protect from the worst effects.

Free entry and parking.

Bulbs should be planted as soon as possible. If planted in a container with drainage holes multi-purpose compost can be used. If planting in a container without drainage bulb fibre compost is recommended. After planting place in cold dark place for 12 weeks. Keep bulbs moist . After 12 weeks bring them into the light and heat but do not subject them to temperature above 15 degrees C until shoots are green.

DAFFODILS/TULIPS/CROCUS ETC

For a colourful spring display plant as soon as possible after purchase. A bulb is a plant and the best place for a plant is soil!

Ideal conditions are a moisture retentive well drained soil.

Tete – Tete , daffodils, prepared hyacinths, tulips and crocus all suitable for containers or can be planted  in flower beds.

Always check that bulbs are healthy before planting, and that you put them at the right depth, if your not sure about this

ensuring you have a wonderful colourful display in the spring.
